The British new towns, such as Milton Keynes, are looked on as one of the major achievements of post-war planning.

Culture:
There were 32 new towns. They were established by the government to encourage people, businesses and industries to move out of the crowded cities. Some, such as ↑Milton Keynes and Telford, became large successful towns, but not all of them attracted as many people or businesses as they expected. Many British people think that new towns are ugly, boring places because they do not have many interesting old buildings or streets
