a US museum of air and space travel which is part of the ↑Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Its displays include the Wright Flyer (the first aircraft to fly successfully), Charles Lindbergh's plane ↑Spirit of St Louis, ↑Enola Gay (the US plane that dropped the first atom bomb), the only surviving section of Apollo 11, which made the first space flight to the moon, and a piece of rock brought back from the moon.
