a university in London, England, started in 1836. It consists of a large number of colleges in different parts of the city, including ↑Imperial College London, the ↑London School of Economics and University College. It also includes the ↑teaching hospitals ↑Bart's and ↑Guy's. About one fifth of London University students study abroad and take examinations in their own countries as part of the External Programme.
