어리석다 [멍청하다] foolish; stupid; silly (foolish는 일반적, silly는 foolish보다 약간 구어적이고 경멸적으로 쓰이며, 요령이 없다는 등의 뜻을 포함함. stupid는 지능이 낮음을 강조함); [조소를 받을 만하다] ridiculous; [도리에 맞지 않다] absurd.ㆍ 어리석은 사람 a fool / a foolish person / an idiot.ㆍ 어리석은 행위 a nonsensical[stupid] act.ㆍ 어리석은 짓을 하다 blunder / make a blunder / bungle < something > / < 口 > goof / do a foolish[stupid] thing / make an ass of oneself.ㆍ 그런 말을 하다니 너는 참말로 어리석었구나 What a fool[How foolish] you were to say such a thing! / It was stupid of you to say such a thing.ㆍ 그런 짓을 하는 것은 어리석기 짝이 없다 It would be the height of folly to do such a thing.ㆍ 이런 시시한 물건을 많은 돈을 주고 샀다니 어리석은 일이다 It's absurd[ridiculous] that you should have paid so much for such rubbish.
